Banks Youth Basketball Association has started discussing the possibility of offering some sort of youth basketball season for the classic/competitive teams (5th-8th grade).  There are still many unknowns and obstacles, the biggest of which is if/when the Oregon Health Authority will allow indoor contact sports (including basketball).  Despite all of the unknowns, we try to remain optimistic that BYBA will be able to organize something for our athletes to continue to grow their basketball skills.  If we are able to do this, the season would begin the week of May 10th and align with the OSAA calendar for high school basketball.

In order to properly plan, we need to gauge the level of interest.  A survey link is below and includes some details of potential options for the season.  Please fill out the survey as soon as possible for each individual athlete that is interested in participating.  We are only a few weeks out from the possible start date, so your prompt responses are much appreciated.

November 2020

Basketball will not look the same this year. Due to COVID-19 we have unprecedented constraints for a normal basketball season. Unfortunately we will not be having a Small Ball or Rec Ball Season (K-4th grades). We are still working on a Competitive season and will update the website with more information as it becomes available.  If you have questions please feel free to reach out to a board member banksyouthbasketball@gmail.com . Thank you for your understanding and patience. We are in this together!

PLEASE NOTE: The BYBA had to make changes to our gym use policy due to damage to school property last year that resulted in over $1800 in damages. ALL PRACTICES WILL BE CLOSED to anyone who is not a coach, a player or a parent during their team's specific practice time. BYBA only has access to gyms, bathrooms and the hallway next to the gym entrance. At no time are players and/or other individuals allowed in any other part of the school grounds. If damage to school property occurs during practice or games, the team(s) participating during the time damage occurred will be responsible for any costs that result in that damage. Disciplinary action will occur to individual(s) directly involved in property damage.  And, lastly, if children are dropped off unsupervised, without a parent or coach present, disciplinary action will occur.
